plans and lovelife

When I started this blog I didn't have a plan.

I just wanted an outlet, a ME time and something that would somehow chronicle my life, our life.

I was writing down on my notebook things I wanted to share/write.
There was plenty and I'm surprised!

So let the this lovelife with blogging begin!

that was fast

Same time last year, I was anxiously waiting for our answered prayer...our blessing...our baby

and now, I'm planning her first birthday celebration!!!

that was fast!

and planning a kiddie party is no joke. kudos to all parents of all the kiddie parties I've attended in the past.

which reminds me, when Anikka was still in my womb, I was not keen on throwing a big party for her 1st birthday. I said, we'll celebrate as a family, but not a party - party.
Its for the reason that she wouldn't enjoy it yet and wont even remember it.

But when she was born, everything changed.

So I concluded that this would be a celebration of life, of God's blessing, a testimony of answered prayers, family, and how a little girl could make life so different yet so HAPPY.

I have a theme in mind, a supplier for her giveaways, her cake and a guest list.

The venue has yet to be found. haha

So for now, let me go back to my venue-hunting online :p

cheers!

how do you start a new blog

I have been putting this off for as long as I could remember.

After a year of marriage, we have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl.

Both a surprise and an answered prayer.

Surprise, because although I got the regular ultrasounds, I would strictly request not to have the gender revealed.

So when my water bag broke, 12noon of February 5, 2012, I was more excited to meet our bundle of joy and find out if were blessed with a girl or boy.

Of course when contractions were happening, excitement was replaced by pain and prayers for it to be over and have our baby delivered safely.

I wanted a natural normal delivery. But I was on labor for 16 hours and only at 4cm, so we decided we tried our best but "baby uno" (a nickname my mom gave her first apo) has to be out already.

I was conscious when our baby was about to come out, my OB called out to me and asked one of the nurses to call my sister to document this precious moment.

in a few minutes my OB shouted, "Kat, it's a BABY GIRL!!!!"

No words could describe that moment. And when I saw her for the first time, She was perfect.

Then real life took over. I knew there was nothing I could do to prepare for motherhood. But the joys, the pains and realization, was overwhelming and you just have to deal with it.

At this point, I'd like to think that I've already adjusted to the life of a working momma.

If there is one rule I live by, its that my daughter comes first.
Everything else could wait.
That includes my former 2x a month mani-pedi sched, monthly facials, spas, haircuts and treatments. Spontaneous coffee dates with my girlfriends no longer happens.

I only allow myself some ME time, when I am sure Anikka is with her Lola or Ninang Friend (my sister). Which only happens when my nails / hair are in dire need of attention and care.

Some say I should not feel guilty about having some ME time once in while, because in order for me to make others happy, I should be HAPPY.

Agree with that. But being a working mom, your time most of the day is spent at the office than at home. So I to make sure that I spend time with Anikka on days I'm off from work.

I think its just about setting your priorities and doing your best to make it work.

And hopefully THIS is considered ME time.
